The princess was the daughter of Agenor, king of Phoenicia. One day Zeus caught himself observing her from the coast and instantly fell in love, astonished by her beauty. Possessed by lust, he then took the form of a white bull with shining horns to approach her.
When Europa spotted the pristine animal, she instantly felt the need to touch him and then feeling confident, she climbed on his back. He rushed across the sea to the island of Crete to then take back his human form and mate with her. Later on, she gave birth to his sons: Minos, Rhadamanthys and Sarpedon.
